Apex Legends Ash abilities explained and launch skins list
Ashtonishing.
Ash is an offensive character that debuted during Apex Legends Season 11 Escape.
She not only comes packed with an array ofskins, but also a new batch of abilities to shake the battlefield, mainly involving the use of her signature throwable weapon. These, alongside other qualities, make her an interesting option for offensive players.
This page outlines Ash abilities and cooldowns in Apex Legends Season 11, as well as all Ash skins that had a debut during launch.

Apex Legends Ash abilities and cooldowns list at a glance
No character abilities are the same, and Ash's aren't the exception to the rule.
Below you'll find an overview of all Ash abilities and cooldowns at a glance:
- Passive: Marked for Death
- Tactical: Arc Snare
- Ultimate: Phase Breach
For more details about what each of these abilities entails, as well as tips to make the best use or evade them if you're on the opposite team, check our following sections.
Passive Marked for Death ability explained
Let's start with Ash's passive ability. Marked for Death allows for Ash's map to signalise the location of recent deathboxes. This is already helpful, but in addition, you can ping a deathbox to mark surviving attackers (only one time per deathbox).
In practice, you will see new icons on your map while you're using Ash. As soon as an enemy dies, a skull icon will appear, marking the spot of the deathbox.
You can then use H if you're on PC with mouse and keyboard, or the designated button for Character Utility Action on your controller. This will mark any surviving attackers.
Lastly, the pinpoints on the map also indicate how long it's been since the player died, as well as any other deathboxes nearby, which is helpful intel to know before storming in for an attack!
Tactical Arc Snare ability explained
Onto Ash's tactical ability. Arc Snare involves Ash's snipping snare, which causes damage and also tethers the first enemy that gets too close to it.
In simpler words? This is a throwable weapon that is also electrified. It's rather quick to use, and as the description says, it doesn't need to hit a target to cause damage.
Its most impressive feature is, by far, its range. It can travel far and wide with no drop-off, which makes it perfect to target either a escaping enemy or a group of enemy players that are attacking your teammates before you can get close.
It may not be disruptive ability by any means, but it can serve as a way to break an opposite team's formation. Plus, an extra attack is always welcomed.
Ultimate Phase Breach explained
Ash's ultimate ability, Phase Breach, joins the likes of Wraith and Revenant with a unique touch.
Phase Breach allows the legend to open a one-way portal to a targeted location. The description is important - you won't be able to either return to it or use it a second time. But the fact that it can be used on a targeted spot can lead to a huge advantage, and of course, an array of new options to strategise around.
It's worth mentioning that, in practice, it feels more akin to Wraith's ultimate ability. Meaning that teammates won't be able to join you. Instead, the animation sees Ash using her sword to literally open a breach in front of her and transport forward to a marked location.
The ability has a decent range, which makes strategies such as shifting towards an enemy team for a surprise attack very tempting.
All the while, it can serve as a good way to escape from the fray of battle. Of course, this is an ultimate ability, which means that the cooldown is considerable - using it wisely is key to make the most of it.
