How to unlock the XM4 in Warzone
Thankfully, the XM4 is unlocked from the very second you boot up Call of Duty: Warzone. There's no grinding required to unlock the XM4, because it's available as the base assault rifle in the crossover between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
It's a similar situation in Treyarch's new game. You'll unlock the XM4 as soon as you start playing Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer mode, so it makes sense that you'd also unlock the weapon instantly in Warzone, too.
Best Warzone XM4 loadout and attachments
Just below, you can check out our comprehensive list of the best attachments to equip to the XM4 to get the most out of the weapon, as well as the corresponding levels at which said attachments unlock.
- Muzzle: Agency Suppressor (Unlocks at level 46)
- Barrel: 13.5" Task Force (Unlocks at level 48)
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x (Unlocks at level 22)
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip (Unlocks at level 41)
- Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd (Unlocks at level 34)
Firstly, you'll want to equip the Agency Suppressor for the muzzle. This has been a rather famous choice for a while now, and it works great here, improving the vertical recoil control as well as increasing both bullet velocity and damage range - in addition to sound suppression, of course. It comes with an impact to aim down sight speed and the overall aiming stability, but not to a high cost.
For the barrel of the XM4, we went for the 13.5" Task Force. This attachment improves both horizontal and vertical recoil control, as well as increase the range and bullet velocity, making for a great companion when paired up with the Agency Suppressor. It comes with a cost to hip fire, ADS, sprinting and aim walking movement speeds, but since we're using the weapon with range in mind, these trade-offs are expected.
No laser or stock for this particular build. Instead, we recommend pairing the XM4 with an optic. We've found the Axial Arms 3x to be the best option, granting zoom magnification with a decent iron sight. But of course, optics can vary depending on your preference - just make sure to have one!
For the underbarrel slot, the Field Agent Grip is ideal to add extra horizontal and vertical recoil control. This attachment choice comes with the caveat of reducing regular and ADS firing move speeds slightly, but not by much.
Onto ammunition. We went for the STANAG 60 Rnd choice here, as the XM4 absolutely benefits from the extra rounds. It comes with a cost to ADS time and reload quickness, but overall, it's fairly balanced with the build as a whole.

Best Warzone XM4 class setup, perks and equipment
As with the list above, you can find a full list of the best equipment items to equip alongside the XM4 in your custom Warzone class.
- Perk 1: Quick Fix (Unlocks at level 42)
- Perk 2: Overkill (Unlocks at level 38)
- Perk 3: Amped (Unlocks at level 1)
- Secondary: Swiss K31 (Unlocks by getting 2 Headshot kills in 15 different completed matches using any sniper rifle)
- Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor (Unlocks at level 30)
- Lethal: Claymore (Unlocks at level 1)
With this XM4 build it won't take you long to start taking down enemies, which is why beginning health regeneration immediately after each battle with Quick Fix makes for a great combo. If level 42 sounds a bit steep, we recommend opting for E.O.D., as it will help to mitigate damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire until you can unlock this perk.
As per usual we recommend opting for Overkill as the second perk. As for our weapon of choice, the Swiss K31 is the perfect pair. This sniper rifle is fast and can deal damage at great distances in just a few seconds.
If a target manages to sneak past your sniper, don't fret, as Amped will increase the speed of the action.
Rounding out the equipment is the Heartbeat Sensor, perfect for pinpointing nearby enemy locations. Lastly, the Claymore is excellent for defending against specific points against aggressive enemy players.
