A number of these airports have even been hand-crafted, with the aim of making these digital airports as realistic as the ones in the real world.

Airports and hand-crafted airports in Flight Simulator explained
There's over 37,000 airports for you to visit in Flight Simulator, 40 of these airports, referred to as hand-crafted airports, have been carefully recreated by the developers to look as realistic as possible.
The exact number of hand-crafted airports you can visit depends on which edition of Flight Simulator you buy, but, with the standard edition, you are guaranteed 30 hand-crafted airports. This number increased to 35 with the deluxe edition and 40 with the premium.
If you decide to visit one of these hand-crafted airports, such as Heathrow Airport in the UK, make sure you take a close look from both the sky and the ground, so that you can enjoy every detail.

Premium edition hand-crafted airports in Flight Simulator explained
The premium edition of Flight Simulator offers you an additional five hand-crafted airports, alongside the airports from both the standard and deluxe edition, bringing the total number of airports you can visit to 40.
