Fortnite - Alien light communication device locations on mountain tops explained
Is there anybody out there?
Placing alien light communication devices on mountain tops will help you finish a Legendary Quest in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.
Making an appearance during Week 3, and following on from placing Boomboxes within Believer Beach, this quest has you place four alien light communication devices across four locations on the southern corner of the map.
They are fairly close to each other, so depending on where the storm closes in, you might be able to finish the quest in no more than two matches. We recommend using the pickaxe to break whatever you can find on the vicinity and build stairs to make the climbing easier.
Completing this Fortnite challenge will help you level up, so you can earn more Battle Stars for unlocking the Season 7 Battle Pass skins.
Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection and Eren Jaeger skin. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.
Alien light communication device on mountain tops locations in Fortnite
All four placement locations are scattered throughout the icy mountains on the southern and southeastern corners, all the way from Misty Meadows to Catty Corner, to give a broad range. Some are placed right on the peak of the mountain, while others are found on a lower altitude.
Below you'll find a map with each of the four locations - these are always signalized by four blue silhouettes on the ground:
You can place an alien light communication device on right in the centre of the mountain top southwest of Misty Meadows, east of the wood cabin.
From there, you can head east towards the Mount F8 landmark, which is found on the western edge of the mountain top south of Misty Meadows.
Now, begin moving towards Catty Corner. You will find another placement spot north of the base on the mountain top, right before the cliff. If you're looking at the map, it's aligned with the 'CO' from 'Corner'.
The last location is on the right at the centre of northern edge of the big mountain northeast from Catty Corner. We know it's kind of a mouthful, but once you're on the mountain top, head north following the centre and you'll see the lights right before the cliff.
