Fortnite - How to deploy scanners in the Alien Biome explained

Deploying scanners in the alien biome is the fifth legendary quest for Week 12 of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 and, due to its legendary nature, is only available for a week.
This set of legendary quests begins, unsurprisingly, using a payphone to contact Slone, before you craft weapons using Alien Nanites, destroy target dummies and search for books on explosions.
Completing this challenge will reward you with 30k XP, which will help you unlock more Battle Stars for the Season 7 battle pass, and begin the final quest for this set - collect three alien devices and activate the countermeasure device underneath the Corny Complex.
Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection and Eren Jaeger skin. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.
How to deploy scanners in the alien biome in Fortnite explained
To deploy a scanner for this legendary quest, you need to visit one of the alien biomes - the purple splodges - scattered across the Fortnite map.
When you visit these biomes, you'll easily be able to find the scanner roughly at its centre and all you have to do is activate it.
In the terms of the central biome, the scanner location is a little different, being located on its left-hand side and close to the fork of the river, but there is still one here for you to activate.
It doesn't matter which alien biomes you visit nor the order in which you do so - you simply have to visit two and activate two scanners to complete this legendary quest.
