Rockstar North's ultra gory take on hide and seek is coming to PC and Xbox next month with the publisher having confirmed to retail an April 23rd release date for both formats.

Rockstar launched the game with its usual Daily Mail avoidance tactics (i.e minimal publicity, no review code) but unlike Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City, this tactic backfired slightly, with poor awareness leading to less than stellar sales - ChartTrack placed it at a lowly No.49 in the best-selling PS2 games of last year.

Also, despite being a stylish, dark Running Man-style tale of James Earl Cash's desperate fight for survival against the sick whims of Starkweather, the 'director', it was a decidedly uncomfortable experience at times and arguably didn’t have the same universal appeal of previous efforts.

The enigmatic publisher has yet to announce whether it is enhancing either version, but if Rockstar's previous Xbox and PC ports are anything to go by, then we can expect both versions to be largely identical, except for a few minor graphical tweaks.
