Galarian Farfetch'd and Sirfetch'd in Pokémon Go explained
Galarian Farfetch'd made its first appearance in Pokémon Sword and Shield as one of the original 14 Galar variants - Pokémon from previous generations that have a different appearance and typing in the Galar region.
Regional variants made their first appearance in Gen 7 with the Alolan Pokémon.
Unlike a typical Gen 1 Farfetch'd, Galarian Farfetch'd are a fighting-type Pokémon and have the ability to evolve into Sirfetch'd, a Gen 8 Pokémon, through an interesting evolution in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
How to catch a Galarian Farfetch'd in Pokémon Go
Galarian Farfetch'd is currently part of the 7km egg pool.
You can find 7km eggs by opening gifts from friends as long you have a spare egg slot in your Pokémon Storage. It may take a while for you to hatch a Galarian Farfetch'd, so don't give up hope if you don't get one on your first couple of eggs.
Galarian Farfetch'd also appear in the wild during certain in-game events, such as the celebrations for the release of the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield.
How to evolve Galarian Farfetch'd into Sirfetch'd in Pokémon Go
To evolve a Galarian Farfetch'd into Sirfetch'd in Pokémon Go, you first need to have the Galarian Farfetch'd as your Buddy Pokémon.
Once you've done this, you'll need to collect 50 Farfetch'd Candy and make 10 Excellent throws while Galarian Farfetch'd is your Buddy Pokémon.
This may sound difficult, but, thankfully, you don't need to perform these Excellent throws in a row nor will the counter reset if you decide you don't want the Galarian Farfetch'd to be your Buddy for a while.
We recommend keeping an eye out for Pokémon with large catch circles, such as Mr. Mime or Wailmer, as it will make judging your throws far easier. You can also use Nanab Berries to slow a Pokémons movements, making it easier for you to land that Excellent throw.
The Max Out Season is here. The new global event, Wild Area, is nearly here and In the Wild is our lead-up event, which includes the global release of Toxel. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
