Pokémon Legends Arceus: Evolution methods list and how to evolve every Pokémon in Hisui
From using moves to times of day, here's how to evolve everything.
Evolution methods are as elaborate as ever in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, ranging from the traditional ways of just levelling up a Pokémon to a given level, to using a certain move a certain number of times in battle, or even waiting for a full moon.
Below, we'll treat this page as a kind of hub for all new evolution methods in the game, listing the basic details for how to evolve each Pokémon that gets a new method that's changed in any way since the previous games. We'll also link out to our dedicated guides for any specific Pokémon that need a little more detail.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus evolution methods list
There are hundreds of Pokémon to evolve in Legends: Arceus, and the vast majority of them evolve either by levelling up, like your starter Pokémon, or other traditional methods from earlier games that haven't changed, like Eevee's many evolutions or ones requiring high Friendship levels. We won't list those here given that for those Pokéon, there's nothing new to report - simple level them up or give them the respective evolution items as you would have before.
However, there are lots of Pokémon whose method for evolving has changed, or new Pokémon with new methods altogether that have been added, too. These are the ones we list below - every evolution method that's either changed, used for new Pokémon, or is an entirely new method itself.

Our Pokémon Legends Arceus walkthrough will help you pick a starter Pokémon and win the Kleavor boss fight. You’re also tasked with filling the Hisui Pokédex by obtaining new evolutions like Kleavor by evolving Scyther, Wyrdeer by evolving Stantler, Sneasler by evolving Hisui Sneasel and Overquil by evolving Hisui Qwilfish. There’s a host of new evolution methods, including ones for the Eevee evolutions. Take the time to complete Requests too, such as The Sea’s Legend, Wurmple’s Evolved! and finding the Wisp locations. Don’t forget to track down every Unown location too.
The evolution process explained: how to evolve Pokémon in Legends: Arceus
Beyond that, you might be wondering about the very basics of evolving - as in, how do you actually get a Pokémon to evolve once it can?
This has changed slightly (in our opinion for the better!) from previous Pokémon games. In the past, you'd have to wait until the evolution criteria was triggered, and then the Pokémon would automatically evolve unless you cancelled it mid-evolution.
In Legends: Arceus, you have to manually evolve every Pokémon once you've met its evolution criteria. So, say your Bergmite reaches Level 37, you'll then need to go into your bag menu and interact with the Bergmite.
From there, you'll see its Poké Ball icon is glowing yellow - hover over the Pokémon and press X to go straight to the option to evolve it (or press A to open up the list of interaction options and select "Evolve" from that list). Confirm your decision, and it'll evolve! Simple as that.
Enjoy your evolving! And if you want to check out many more guides like this, head to our main Pokémon Legends: Arceus walkthrough and guide hub.
