Assassin's Creed Origins - The Crocodile's Scales

Everything you need to know about stealthing and stabbing your way along the Nile.

The Crocodile's Scales is the eleventh quest you'll encounter in Assassin's Creed Origins, which has you tackle a series of enemies and follows on from The Lizard's Mask and The Lizard's Face.

We'll cover everything you need to know about completing The Crocodile's Scales below, while you can head back to our main Assassin's Creed Origins walkthrough and guide hub for all the other missions so far, and more.

The Crocodile's Scales

When you arrive at Hoephres' house he's nowhere to be seen. Examine the debris downstairs, then head up to the floor above and examine the remaining items before heading to the top of the pigeon coop for the final clue.

Head to the enemy camp and use Senu to locate the servant and the guards. You have to carry him out, so if you want a quick in-and-out job we'd recommend waiting until nightfall as a few of the guards will be asleep; climb over the rocks above the servant's cage, perform an aerial assassination on his guard, grab the servant, and then head north. Head behind the red tent on the left hand side and you should be able to just walk out unmolested.

The servant will give you the rough location of Hotepheres' boat. Unfortunately there's not much convenient transport to be had, so you'll have to swim for it - his boat makes slow laps of the island in the middle of the lake, so if it's moving away from you when you arrive it's faster to swim round the other side of the island and meet it head on.

Once you've spoken to him talk to the rest of his crew, and then make your way to Euhemeria to rendezvous with his wife. After a brief conversation, follow her daughter to get a vantage point of their house, then use Senu to pinpoint the location of the ledger (it's in the ground floor of the villa building) and mark the guards.

Take out the one directly across from you with a well-placed arrow, then climb up to where he was standing. Deal with the guards patrolling outside the upper floor of the villa in a similar fashion, then sneak across onto the roof. Drop down on the guard at the back of the house, then head inside to learn the horrible truth.

Head back to the kitchen, speak to the staff, and then make your way to the lighthouse.

Next Up: The Crocodile's Jaws

There are a few guards here that you can deal with, or you can simply dive into the water and swim around the end of the peninsula to bypass them. Once you've reached Khenut on the dock, use Senu to locate the body underwater then dive down to retrieve it.
