Assassin's Creed Unity - Kingdom of Beggars, La Touche, Le Roi Est Mort, Le Rois de Thunes

Our essential guide will help you complete every last objective and every single Challenge to be found in Unity's fourth explosive sequence.

There are a few different ways to get the story moving forwards here, but we found the best way to tackle the first section of this memory was to just get up on the rooftops and then scramble over towards the far side of the shaded area on your mini-map - just make your way towards the top-right section to get to your target. As soon as you arrive at your location, switch on your Eagle Vision ability to find La Touche.

Find La Touche and escape the clinic

Again, staying up on the roofs is the best way to keep Arno on top of his targets while remaining nicely out of sight. It's also a handy way of ticking off the Phantom Blade kills that you need to perform in order to complete one of this memory's Challenges. Take the guards down from distance one by one, and don't forget to use your Eagle Vision from time to time as well - it'll help you keep tabs on your ultimate target. When he arrives at his destination, the objective will auto-complete and a new cut-scene will begin.

Refer to your mini-map once more for the location of your target, and stick to the rooftops as you continue following him. Don't forget to fire off your Eagle Vision occasionally to spot both the guards and La Touche, and make sure you finish off any Phantom Blade kills you need for the Challenge.

You can follow La Touche inside by using the balcony on one side of the building he's in. Just make sure pick off the guards who are protecting this balcony using your Phantom Blade first. When you're inside, keep an eye out for a nearby third guard, as well as the Artifact by the wall.

Once you've removed these bodyguards you've got a free run at La Touche. Go downstairs and then interact with the door you find. Doing so will trigger a new cut-scene.

The easiest way to leave this building is to simply go back the way you came in. When you get to the balcony, use Cherry Bombs on the guards below you. This will help you tick off the second of this memory's Challenges, before you race away from the target area to wrap things up.

The Kingdom of Beggars Challenges

  • Four Phantom Blade kills
  • Two Cherry Bomb Lures

As soon as you start this memory, turn on your Eagle Vision to get a bead on the Extremist right below your starting position. You should also now be able to see a pair of guards patrolling the area. As soon as these two guards turn around and start walking away, deliver a quick air assassination before moving to cover the chimney. That's progress towards one of your Challenges.

Sabotage the chimneys and defend the beggars

Once the chimney's been covered, get back on top of the roofs and just wait until those guards return. We recommend performing another air assassination when they discover the body, before finishing off the final guard with a bit of fancy swordplay.

Next, you should now be able to see a point of interest on your map, or a beam of light in the sky ahead of you. This is the location of the second chimney, so switch your Eagle Vision on and make your way to its location to finish the objective.

Turn your Eagle Vision on once more and make your way towards the new point of interest to get a new objective. Your new task is to defend the group of beggars, which will not only make the final part of this memory a little easier to complete, but also give you the chance to perform the final air assassination you need for the Challenge. When you're back on the ground, finish off any survivors and then get back up on a roof.

Find the hideout and le Roi des Thunes

Heading north-east from your starting position is a church, with a nearby sewer that will take you to the hideout. When you get to this church you'll see a pair of Extremists leave from the sewer. Drop down and kill one of them from the air, then finish his friend and use the sewer access point.

Watch out for the pack of Extremists directly ahead of your position, and get into a cover position behind the wall. Wait for the patrol to come by, take him out, then finish the final two Extremists in whatever manner you prefer. When you've killed the lot of them you'll be able to enter the actual sewer system.

The next part of your memory is pretty linear, and all you've have to do is decide whether to kill the Extremists you come across or sneak past them. Just make regular use of your Eagle Vision, so you don't get caught out by an unexpected enemy. You should also pay attention to the movement patterns of your opponents, so you can react accordingly.

Assassinate le Roi des Thunes

Just keep making your way through the sewers, without fear of being attacked from the rear. Eventually your mini-map will offer up a choice of going straight on towards more Extremists, or going left to avoid them altogether. We recommend ignoring them completely, as there aren't any particularly convenient ways to take them out.

In the next area is a pack of Extremists that you will have to deal with. Track their movement patterns until you're confident of how they'll behave, then use either your Phantom Blade or air assassination skills to pick them off. As soon as they're all dead, simply keep heading deeper into the sewer system.

You'll soon come to a gate which you can slide beneath, and La Touche himself is waiting on the other side of it. The moment he begins running is also the first moment you can start making progress with the Phantom Blade Challenge in this memory.

Climb the nearby ladder and then wait at the top of it. Activate your Eagle Vision, but don't attempt to assassinate your target just yet. For now, simply head towards the right and slide through the gap in the wall you come to.

There's a door ahead of you, and if you switch on your Eagle Vision you should be able to see Le Roi des Thunes nice and clearly. Pay no attention to him for now, and instead go past the door and up the next ladder. Kill the Extremist with your Phantom Blade, then make your way towards the locked door. Pick the lock to access your target, and use your Hidden Blade from behind to finish him off.

Escape the area

Before doing anything else, get your Phantom Blade equipped and use it to finish one of the Extremists beneath you. You've covered both of the chimneys, so visibility's pretty low, but you can rely on your Eagle Vision to help you out. Keep following the waypoint markers shown on-screen, kill all the enemies you come across, and you'll eventually trigger the final cut-scene of this memory.

Le Rois Est Mort Challenges

  • Three air assassinations
  • Two kills with the Phantom Blade during the final approach
