Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland gets Euro release
Nippon Ichi PS3 RPG out in Spring 2012.
PlayStation 3 RPG Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland gets a European release in Spring 2012, publisher Nippon Ichi Software has announced.
The 13th game in the Atelier series, it's a sequel to 2010's Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland and this year's Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland.
The game, developed by Gust, follows Princess Meruru as she attempts to use the power of alchemy to strengthen her kingdom.
Expect classic turn-based battles, a dynamic development system that changes the game's outcome depending on how you use it and returning characters from past entries in the series.
Atelier Rorona scored a middling 6/10 from Eurogamer's Chris Schilling in October last year.
"Like labelmate Trinity Universe, Atelier Rorona is a hard game to dislike, but it ultimately feels a little too tied to JRPG convention for its ideas to bear fruit," read his review.
"It might be admirable for a game to promote such a diligent work ethic, but it never quite rewards you handsomely enough for your efforts."
