Aztez is a unique blend of turn-based strategy and combo-driven 2D action in slick black-and-white-and-red-all-over world.

Developed by the creators of excellent free games Minotaur China Shop and Off-Road Velociraptor Safari at their new indie outfit Team Colorblind, Aztez tasks players with running an Aztec Empire from their command center while also getting their hands dirty in the various battles that break out. According to the developer, Aztez seeks to combine "the timeless surprise gameplay of Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space" with the "deeply and expressive action gameplay of Bayonetta."

"A game of Aztez doesn't take to long to play, but it is designed to be hugely replayable, as every game of exciting empire management is different from the last; different events will occur, different challenges will emerge, and different spoils will be taken every time you play," the developer explained on its official site.

Aztez began as a prototype way back in 2011 and it's not due until next year on PC, Mac and Linux. Until then, check out its slick just released teaser trailer below. or download the most recent available build from April 2012 on Team Colorblind's site.
