Batman: Arkham Knight season pass lets you play as Batgirl
Worth £33?
The Batman: Arkham Knight season pass lets you play as Batgirl, publisher Warner Bros. has revealed.
Last week Warner Bros. came under fire for pricing the Batman Arkham Knight season pass £32.99. It promised new content for six months following the game's 23rd June 2015 launch, but that failed to stop many from saying it was too expensive.
Posting on Facebook, Warner Bros said it had "heard from our community that you want more information" on what would be included. So, it published a list, clearly in a bid to alleviate concern around the value of the season pass.
"While we aren't ready to unveil every aspect of the content we'll be developing, we would like to share more detail now to give you a better sense of the scope of the season pass," Warner said.
Of particular interest is "Batgirl: A Matter of Family", which Warner describes as a prequel story expansion. It includes a new location where you play as Batgirl for the first time in Rocksteady's Arkham series. The image, right, is the first render of Batgirl.
Elsewhere, "The Season of Infamy" lets you play as Batman in new story missions where super-villains invade Gotham City. This includes new story arcs and missions, Warner said.
Then there's Gotham City Stories, in which you play as Batman's allies in "narrative missions extending their storylines", from both before and after the events in Batman: Arkham Knight.
You also get to drive differently-themed Batmobiles on custom-built race tracks, each tied to the Batmobile of that specific era. Every Batmobile will be drivable across every race track, Warner noted.
And finally, as you'd expect, the season pass comes with new challenge maps and character skins from across the eras for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman.
The idea is Arkham Knight will see monthly content drops, Warner said, and the season pass will get you all of it.
