Battlefield Hardline release date announced
As EA reports impressive financial results.
Battlefield Hardline launches on 17th March 2015 in North America, 19th March 2015 in Europe and 20th March 2015 in the UK, EA has announced.
Developer Visceral's cops and robbers-inspired Battlefield spin-off had once been due out this month, but was delayed to early 2015 following feedback from the summer beta.
The announcement came as part of EA's fiscal 2015 Q2 financial results, which saw record revenue of $1.22 billion. The same quarter last year saw revenue of $1.04 billion.
EA said it was the number one publisher on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in the Western world, off the back of FIFA 15, NHL 15, Madden NFL 15, EA Sports UFC, Titanfall, Battlefield 4 and even FIFA 14.
The company failed to reveal sales figures for its titles, but did say net revenue for FIFA, Madden NFL and Hockey Ultimate Team services, which includes the hugely popular FIFA Ultimate Team, was up an impressive 96 per cent year on year, so the money men will no doubt be delighted.
During the quarter players of EA games logged more than 1.9 billion hours of gameplay across console and PC. Its mobile games, which include Madden NFL Mobile and FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Mobile, averaged more than 40m monthly active users, up 250 per cent year on year.
"Electronic Arts continues to put our players first, delivering new experiences, innovation and new ways to play," said Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson. "It was an excellent second quarter, with strong new titles, deep player engagement in our live services and ongoing digital growth driving continued momentum."
