Fallout 76 may have some "spectacular" bugs, Bethesda warns

No, not the Radroach kind.

In the build-up to Fallout 76, Bethesda hasn't been shy in admitting the new online game may have some issues. Aside from labelling the Fallout 76's early access program the "Break it Early Test Application" (B.E.T.A.), the game's FAQs also explain the experience will be a "work-in-progress" version of the game complete with a "glorious array of issues".

Yet apparently this wasn't enough to hammer the issue home, as Bethesda has now published a letter to fans warning them about potential problems with the game.

The statement prepares fans for "unforeseen bugs" and "new spectacular issues" which may occur in the early stages of the beta. "We need your help finding them, and advice on what's important to fix," the developer added. "We'll address all of it, now and after launch." It's starting to sound a little Preston Garvey over here.

Another bug needs your help.

Alongside explaining the online game development process is "very new and very scary" for the studio, Bethesda also claims the reason for the buggy beta is due to the "scale of [their] games". The developer views the Fallout 76 beta as a "starting line where all new work begins," rather than a finished product. How reassuring.

To be fair to Bethesda, the studio has been upfront about potential jankiness in Fallout 76 - but this may still be galling to many fans who have paid £59.99 for the base pre-order edition of the game. With the Xbox One beta test due to start tomorrow (at the rather hideous hours of midnight to 4am in the UK), it's only a matter of time before we find out just how serious the problems are.
