BioWare forum ban locks-out DAII
"I've got a dead game for 50 Euros."
A member of the BioWare Social Network has had his account suspended for 72 hours for referring to EA as the devil.
"Have you not sold your souls to the EA devil?" he asked in a thread.
He admits his mistake. He loves BioWare games.
The problem with all this is that he, v-ware (now vware), now cannot activate the Signature Edition of Dragon Age II - a game he spent €50 on.
"I already knew I was going to play it without the extra content since I can't activate my extra codes. What I did not know was that I needed to activate the game before being able to play it. So now I've got a dead game for 50 Euros. Pity," he wrote.
BioWare's Stanley Woo (writer, tester, voice actor) responded, pointing out that while BioWare community bans have no effect on games, EA community bans do.
"EA Community bans come down from a different department and are the result of someone hitting the REPORT POST button. These bans can affect access to your game and/or DLC," he wrote.
"Because the BioWare community now operates under the same umbrella as all EA Communities, community members here have all explicitly agreed to abide by and be governed by both sets of rules. Consider it an added incentive to follow the rules you say you're going to follow."
With that, the thread was locked.
