Blue Toad developer launches digital division
Relentless shifts over 250,000 copies of quiz game.
Blue Toad developer Relentless Software has launched a digital division.
The Brighton-based, former Buzz! developer intends to expand its self-published digital distribution business with a focus on social and casual gaming.
Making the announcement, Relentless said detective quiz game Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle, which launched first on PlayStation Network, has sold over 250,000 copies.
One million games of Quiz Climber, its iPhone quiz game, had been played three months after launch. Over 10 million questions have been answered.
Relentless executive director Andrew Eades said: "The Digital division in Relentless has been established as a separate division that reports to me as CEO. We're serious about social and mobile games and that's why we have taken the logical step to separate these activities from the Console business."
Recently Relentless made Kinect Fun Labs games Air Band and Mutation Station, and Kinect Nat Geo TV. A number of unannounced projects are in the works.
