Borderlands 3 Scoville challenge steps: All Torgue's Marketing Mistake locations explained
How to unlock the hot sauce gun in Borderlands 3.
Torgue has always been known for some interesting marketing choices, but in Borderlands 3 Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC it's time for you to clean up a Torgue's Marketing Mistake. In return, you'll receive a new gun - the Scoville.
Torgue thought it would be a good idea to create a promotional hot sauce, which would be great if it wasn't also explosive. You'll find these hot sauce bottles throughout the Jackpot and it's your job to destroy them with bullets.
There are five bottles of Torgue's Marketing Mistake for you to find through The Jackpot. You'll also receive XP, Eridium and money for each hot sauce bottle you destroy.
Alongside the Ember's Purge, Scoville is one of two legendary guns in Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot that can only be found by completing a challenge.

The Spendopticon Torgue's Marketing Mistake locations in Borderlands 3
There are two Torgue's Marketing Mistakes to be found in The Spendopticon.
The first is located to the right of the turret guarded entrance to the VIP Tower.
The best time to destroy this bottle of hot sauce is during the first mission, The Handsome Jackpot, because Timothy will actually send you into its location to find the focalizer.
Once you're in this room, the hot sauce is easy to find. Simply look at the lights hanging from the ceiling and you'll find the hot sauce sitting on the middle right one.
Shoot the bottle with any gun to complete this challenge.
The second Torgue's Marketing Mistake in The Spendopticon can easily be found during the fifth mission, The Plan, when Ember sends you to retrieve the Compound 24 from the J-Spot.
In the middle of the J-Spot you'll find a fake mountain - the Torgue's Marketing Mistake at the top. You can easily climb the mountain by climbing onto the ledge next to the tree. From there you simply head upward, going from ledge to ledge, until you reach the top.
Once you're at the top jump across to the rafter directly in front of you to find the hot sauce behind the piece of metal plating.
The Compactor Torgue's Marketing Mistake location in Borderlands 3
There is one Torgue's Marketing Mistake located in The Compactor and its located near the entrance to Trashlantis.
In the area where you fight Loader Bots before entering Trashlantis, you'll find a pipe sticking out from the middle of the ground. Directly behind this pipe is a container, which you need to climb on top of.
From there, you can jump across onto the top of, then jump again to the sheet of metal covering the flowing pipes.
Now all you have to do is look to your left and you'll see the bottle of hot sauce in the container next to you.
Shoot the bottle of hot sauce to complete the challenge.
Jack's Secret Torgue's Marketing Mistake location in Borderlands 3
There is one Torgue's Marketing Mistake to be found inside Jack's Secret, which is accessible once you've started the sixth mission, Jack's Wild.
This bottle of sauce is found right after you properly enter this area. All you need to do is head to where you drop through the floor to reach the rest of the area and look up.
There, above you, is the hot sauce. Shoot it and move on with your journey.
VIP Tower Torgue's Marketing Mistake location in Borderlands 3
There is one Torgue's Marketing Mistake to be found on the first floor of the VIP Tower.
Head to the alcove right of the elevator that will take you to Pretty Boy and you'll find a VIP door.
Pay the fee and go through the door to find the hot sauce bottle waiting for you on the table inside the room.
How to collect the Scoville in Borderlands 3 explained
Once you've destroyed all five bottles of hot sauce, Torgue will send you the Scoville.
To find it open the start menu in-game, which allows you to change the options, access photo mode and quit the game, among others. Select the 'Social' option to open your in-game inbox.
The Scoville will be in a message from Torgue, which will probably currently be the first email in your inbox, and all you have to do now select 'Accept' to place this gun in your inventory. Just make sure you have space for it first or it will have to stay in your inbox.

How useful is the Scoville in Borderlands 3?
The main appeal of the Scoville is that, rather than using bullets, you're shooting bottles of hot sauce at your enemies. This makes it a perfect choice for the Borderlands weird gun collectors.
Due to this special feature, the Scoville causes incendiary damage, which makes it highly effective against any enemy with flesh. It also has a bonus 751 splash damage radius, because hot sauce is definitely going to splatter when it hits the ground.
Even though it consumes four ammo per shot, the Scoville is a highly effective weapon, which can cause a great amount of damage in a very short amount of time. Depending on your level, it can cause a high amount of damage and it, you know, fires hot sauce bottles.
