Bungie's Activision universe set for PC
Case for online focus grows.
Bungie's mysterious Activision-published "universe" looks set to hit the PC as well as consoles.
A slide shown at an investment conference yesterday lists Bungie's next for "Con/PC/Online".
Does that mean Bungie will develop a PC version of whatever it's got in the works?
If so, it'll be the first time the developer has created a PC product internally since Oni in January 2001.
It's also worth noting the "Online" bit of the slide: current speculation suggests Bungie's post-Halo offering will have a massively multiplayer feel, and this will do nothing to quell that speculation.
Bungie signed a 10-year multi-platform agreement with Activision in April. Under the terms of the agreement, Bungie retains the rights to whatever it's cooking.
It's also worth noting what Activision considers to be its "seven pillar franchises for long-term growth".
Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Blizzard's new title and Bungie's new title are all highlighted.
