Call of Duty: Black Ops named and dated
Treyarch-developed sequel in November.
Developer Treyarch has revealed the name and release date of this year's Call of Duty game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released on 9th November 2010.
There are no other details available at the moment, and that includes platforms, although we are presuming Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
There is a website, however, where you can look at the logo, follow the game on Facebook and Twitter, and read Treyarch's first blog post about the game.
"We at Treyarch are excited to reveal our latest development - Call of Duty: Black Ops! Be sure to head over to CallOfDuty.com/blackops as more details begin to unfold!" it says.
That scotches the idea that the next game would be Call of Duty: Vietnam. However, recent rumours have suggested a Cold War setting, and that Vietnam might still be one of several locations in the game. The Black Ops title suggests secret, special forces action rather than frontline fighting.
We'll know for sure come E3, if not before. Watch this space.
