Call of Duty: Black Ops updates released

Treyarch's improving gargantuan phenom Call of Duty: Black Ops with a string of updates.

An update for the PC version promises a "performance improvement" for dual and quad core systems.

Lag seems to be the biggest bugbear among fans. Has the update helped?

The PS3 version's also been tweaked. In a post on the official forum, community manager Josh Olin detailed the live fixes implemented since last week, and promised more are to come.

Improvements in the works will focus on matchmaking and lag.

Treyarch's Black Ops is set to be the best-selling game of all time. It sold an eye-watering 5.6 million copies in the US and UK combined – in one day.

Those sales generated a whopping $360 million for Activision.
