Warzone best Grau loadout: Our Grau class setup recommendation and how to unlock the Grau explained

Here's how to get the most out of the Grau in Call of Duty: Warzone.

The Grau in Warzone has always been one of the more dominant weapons in the game.

Even after it was nerfed relatively early in the life cycle of Modern Warfare, it's still remained a force to be reckoned with in both Modern Warfare multiplayer and Warzone.

Although it's a bit of a grind to unlock the Grau if you haven't already done so, it's well worth the effort. It's one of the more accurate, deadlier assault rifles in Call of Duty: Warzone, and there's a good reason it's seen nerfs.

In this page to the Grau, we'll walk you through everything you need to know about the elite assault rifle in Call of Duty: Warzone, including how to unlock the Grau, the best Grau attachments to compliment it, and how to build the best Grau class.

How to unlock Grau in Warzone

There's actually a bit of legwork required in unlocking the Grau in Call of Duty: Warzone. While you could previously unlock it really easily by getting to level 15 on the Season 2 Battle Pass, that's obviously no longer an option, so you instead need to complete a very specific challenge to unlock the assault rifle.

This challenge is to kill 5 enemies in a minute using an assault rifle, a total of 25 times over. As you can probably guess, this is near-impossible to accomplish in Warzone, but it's very doable if you own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, since progress over either game tracks towards this challenge.

Alternatively, you can purchase a cosmetics bundle containing the Grau from the Warzone store, but this will only unlock a very specific version of the Grau that can't be customised. There's no one store bundle that we'd recommend purchasing to unlock the Grau, but keep in mind that the Call of Duty store shifts out available bundles on a daily basis.

Best Grau loadout and attachments in Warzone

Here's the best attachments you can equip to the Grau in Call of Duty: Warzone.

  • Tactical Suppressor (Unlocks at level 12)
  • Tempus 26.4” Archangel (Unlocks at level 36)
  • Operator Reflex Sight (Unlocks at level 7)
  • FSS Blackjack (Unlocks at level 16)
  • Commando Foregrip (Unlocks at level 4)

As usual with any customised loadout in Call of Duty: Warzone, you'll want to equip a silencer, and for the Grau we've opted for the Tactical Suppressor, due to its relatively low unlock level.

As for the other attachments to best suit the Grau, we'd recommend taking the Commando Foregrip to stabilise the weapon while firing, giving you relatively low recoil, as well as the Tempus 26.4” Archangel for a boost in accuracy.

For optics, some players choose not to run with a customised optics loadout for the Grau, instead choosing to use the weapon's iron sights and save the attachment slot for a weapon Perk. We'd recommend going with the Operator Reflex Sight though, due to its relatively wide field of view.

These are the Perks and equipment items we'd recommend you taking into the fight along with the Grau:

  • Perk 1: Kill Chain (Unlocks at level 34)
  • Perk 2: Ghost (Unlocks at level 24)
  • Perk 3: Tracker (Unlocks at level 51)
  • Secondary: Strela-P (Unlocks at level 17)
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor (Unlocks at level 30)
  • Lethal: Claymore (Unlocks at level 1)

The Tracker is a must for the Grau, since it'll let you pinpoint enemy locations using their footsteps, as well as letting you see the locations of recently deceased enemy players. This is excellent for letting you know where a firefight has recently gone down.

You'll want to take the Strela-P as your secondary weapon due to its high firepower for decimating enemy armour, and you'll want to equip the Heartbeat Sensor for deducing nearby enemy locations within a 30 meter radius.
