Call of Duty: Warzone players were briefly able to play the new 1980s Verdansk map before Raven shut it down

Call of Duty: Warzone players were briefly able to play the new 1980s-themed Verdansk map in the early hours of this morning before developer Raven shut it down.
The new map was accessible via Private Matches, but this option is no longer available.
Of course, plenty of players managed to try it out, and footage of the new map is all over YouTube.
Pro Warzone player Bartonologist was one player who managed to try the new map out. His video, below, offers a good look at 1984 Verdansk:
Of note: the map is described as a "flashback", which is Call of Duty's attempt to explain how players are all of a sudden transported back in time. Operation: Subversion is the name of the mission, and the intro cutscene shows players prepare to parachute out via chopper - not planes, as before.
The map is a lot brighter, and a lot greener. Most buildings have a new lick of paint, and some points of interest are changed to reflect their 1980s look. Stadium, for example, is under construction.
The Dam area is significantly different, and there is a new salt mine point of interest, with red salt pools to mess about in. The array is a towering installation you can climb up. I imagine there will be plenty of sniping action done there.
The Gulag is changed, too. It's now Standoff, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map.
According to the official Call of Duty Twitter, part two of the destruction of Verdansk is a limited time mode that kicks off at 8pm UK time tonight. Last night, Warzone finally nuked Verdansk, bringing to an end the zombie invasion - and now the only way to play the battle royale is via a few LTMs set on a nighttime version of Rebirth Island.
