Capcom: Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D "performed solidly"

SSF4: Arcade Edition "basically achieved projected sales".

Nintendo 3DS game Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D "performed solidly", Capcom has said.

In its latest financial report, the Japanese company said Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition "basically achieved projected sales".

Capcom also highlighted the success of PlayStation 3 game Monster Hunter Freedom 3 HD Ver and PlayStation Portable game Sengoku BASARA: Chronicle Heroes.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver is a high definition remastering of the PSP game for PlayStation 3, and is the first of Sony's PSP Remasters series for the PS3. It launched in Japan in August.

Despite the success of its games, Capcom saw net sales and profits decrease during the first six months of its financial year, which ended 30th September 2011.

Net sales decreased to 29,252 million yen (down 28.1 per cent from the same period last year). Net income decreased to 906 million yen (down 49.2 per cent).

Capcom's true success for the period was The Smurfs' Village, a social game launched with Facebook. It served as the "driving force" in increasing Capcom's financial results, the company said.

Overall, both sales and income exceeded projected figures, Capcom said.
