Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker delayed until Jan 2015 in Europe
Mario Kart 8 sells 2.8m copies, but Nintendo still makes loss.
European Wii U owners will have to wait a little longer to play Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - the game will now arrive here in January 2015. Other regions still have a "Winter 2014" date.
Nintendo confirmed the change in its new financial report, which lists the company's results from April until the end of June 2014.
Mario Kart 8 performed well with 2.82m copies sold in just over a month on shop shelves.
Nintendo sold 510,000 Wii U consoles and 4.39m units of Wii U software during the quarter, while 3DS sold 820,000 units and 8.57m units of software. The Wii U has now sold 6.68m units worldwide since it launched in November 2012.
But Mario Kart 8 wasn't enough to save the company from another overall loss of 9.4bn yen (£54m) - despite sales of 74.6bn yen (£431m).
Still, Nintendo expects "robust profits" from the 3DS over the rest of this year due to the launch of Super Smash Bros. 3DS plus Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
The Wii U has Zelda/Dynasty Warriors mash-up Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Super Smash Bros. Wii U this year, along with the launch of Nintendo's Amiibo figurine line.
In terms of third-party titles, Wii U has Skylanders Trap Team, Pac-Man, Disney Infinity 2.0, SteamWorld Dig, Tengami, Sonic Boom, Just Dance 2015, Watch Dogs and Lego Batman 3 to look forward to.
