Codemasters unveils Grid Autosport DLC plan
As £2.39 XP Boost Pack is released.
Codemasters has unveiled its plan for Grid Autosport downloadable content.
In a Codemasters blog post, community manager Ben Walke outlined the extra content that will be added to the racing game over the next few months.
Three car packs will be released: Best of British; Coupe Style; and Road & Track.
And three mini-expansions are in the works, each built around a theme: Sprint Pack; Touring Car Legends Pack; and Drag Racing Pack. Each mini-expansion includes a new single-player championship alongside new tracks, routes and cars.
Walke added that all DLC is currently scheduled to be released before October 2014. A £23.99 season pass is available for the PC and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, but not the Xbox 360 version. This includes the DLC above, which will also be sold separately.
The announcement comes as the first downloadable content for the console version of Grid Autosport is released.
The £2.39 Boost Pack increases experience point gain of 50 per cent in career mode, and around 50 per cent more XP, vehicle XP and in-game cash when you race online, according to its description on the Xbox Marketplace.
It's not up on the PlayStation Store yet, but we expect it will be made available when the European store updates tomorrow.
Codemasters racing games have dabbled in similar types of DLC in the past. It sold a £3.39 Headstart Pack for 2013 racer Grid 2, for example.
Meanwhile, Codemasters said further patches for Grid Autosport are on the way. A virtual rear view mirror will be added to a soon to be released PC patch. There are also plans for advanced controller options for all peripherals.
"While we cannot say for certain how your controller will work, the options being available should allow you some degree of control over them," Walke said.
