High Voltage has promised to do "whatever it takes" to ensure that The Conduit 2 lives up to the hype.

The Conduit 1 fell flat despite promises of a Wii game that would look like and offer the same features as a shooter on PS3 or Xbox 360.

High Voltage boss Eric Nofsinger won't make the same mistake again.

"It really was a lot for the team to handle at one time," Nofsinger said of establishing a new IP and creating an engine from scratch.

"The result was a game that is fun to play and is solid overall, but never quite manages to excite its audience with inspired visions of a darkly futuristic world that's being torn apart by aliens."

This time, however, Nofsinger said High Voltage will not build anything it isn't "completely excited about making". The team reckons it has picked the most "inspired" locations from all around the globe for The Conduit 2. "We're designing spaces that players will want to fight in," said Nosferatu [stop that - Ed].

You Conduit!

Artwork will be better in The Conduit 2 and lighting has been reworked. Nofsinger said most screenshots seen so far use the old lighting model.

"We're doing whatever it takes to make Conduit 2 the very best that it can," promised Nofsinger, "because we love the game and our audience."

"There's a lot more that we still want to accomplish with this game before it ships, and fortunately we still have time to execute on our initial goal to build a game that fully realises our vision of the Conduit world.

"We truly hope when you finally get the chance to play the game that you like what you play, hear, and see," he added.

The Conduit 2 is due for release this autumn.
