Control - Take Control: turn off the Slide Projector, reach Dylan

Return to the Astral Plane to defeat the Hiss.

Take Control is the tenth and final mission in Control. Finally you have the chance to turn off the Slide Projector and reach Dylan in the Astral Plane.

Events, however, are conspiring against you. With Hedron destroyed, Jesse has lost her connection with Polaris and has succumbed to the Hiss.

This is your last chance to defeat the Hiss - don't let them win now.

Check the noticeboard for tasks in Control

It's your first day as an office assistant at the Federal Bureau of Control! Better check that noticeboard to learn what your tasks are.

First day on the job.

Looks like you've got to deliver the mail, tidy up the coffee cups and scan the forms. You'll easily be able to complete these tasks by wandering around the office area.

Every time you complete one, however, it just resets itself, which is odd.

Pick up that mail canister beneath the flashing light instead.

Deliver the Director's mail to his office in Control

Looks like you've got to deliver the Director's mail. Head down the corridor to his office and place it on the desk.

Do as he asks and pick up the outgoing mail.

You're back at the noticeboard. Pick up your tasks again and complete one to make the Director's mail return.

Take the mail back to his office, place it on the desk and then pick up his outgoing mail.

And you're back at the noticeboard. Again.

Ignore it completely this time and take the Director's mail straight to his office.

When you enter the Director's office, pick up the Service Weapon.

Find Darling's office in Control

Now Jesse's back to normal, leave the Director's office and head back to Executive Affairs.

Dr. Darling's office is through the double doors to the left of that dreaded noticeboard.

Go inside and pull the light switch three times.

Traverse the Oceanview Motel in Control

Well it's nice to be back in the Oceanview Motel.

Ring the lobby bell and head down the corridor to room 226.

Pick up the keys you find on the table in there and enter the room opposite. It's the one with a picture of Jesse on it.

Collectables to be found:

  • Multimedia - Darling Presentations - Dyna-mite
    • (Receive upon entering room 226 in the Oceanview Motel.)

Turn off the Slide Projector in Control

It's time to turn off the Slide Projector.

Run down the corridor and use Levitate to go from the first platform to the second. Make sure you don't fall from either platform, because you'll take damage from the surrounding Hiss energy.

After the second platform, use Levitate to float safely down the hole. Aim for one of the platforms to avoid taking damage.

Again use Levitate to safely move from platform to platform.

When you get to the main platform, climb up the various blocks to reach the Slide Projector and turn it off.

The Slide Projector is at the top of this.

Reach Dylan in Control

We're back in the Astral Plane and it certainly doesn't look well. You need to reach Dylan, who is beneath the inverted pyramid.

Astral Plane isn't looking so hot...

To reach Dylan you're going to have to fight your way through several waves of Hiss enemies. Make sure you've got your preferred Weapon Form ready to go and the best Weapon and Personal Mods set up.

These fights will be easier compared to Cleanse the Siphons in Polaris, as enemies will die after one or two hits.

Still, due to the large amount of Hiss, you can still quickly take damage, so don't drop your guard.

The trick is to take cover behind the large blocks scattered across the platforms. Safe behind those, you can emerge and deal damage to the Hiss or gather Health Elements.

Use Levitate to reach the first platform and begin your final battle with the Hiss.

On this first platform you'll be fighting waves of Hiss Guards. During the fight a Hiss Cluster will appear, so make sure you destroy it quickly to prevent it from healing any Hiss.

The last enemy of this fight is a Hiss Trooper, which you can easily kill by launching back its grenades.

After you've defeated all the Hiss on this platform, the next one will appear. Levitate over to it and kill the Hiss Soldiers that appear, before continuing to the end of the platform.

Follow these platforms to reach Dylan.

Kill the Hiss waiting for you on the next platform and then Levitate over it for a quick rest.

Fly to the next platform and you'll be attacked a couple of Hiss Charged and Hiss Soldiers. Once you've killed these Hiss, you'll be able to reach the final platform.

Here you'll face waves of Hiss soldiers and Hiss Charged. When you first reach the platform you'll have to kill one Hiss Distorted, followed by two Hiss Elevated and, finally, two Hiss Warped.

The trick to this platform is to go to the upper level and stay there. Here you'll be able to quickly kill the Hiss below you by launching rocks at them. You can also take cover behind the top of the pillars here, even against the Hiss Elevated.

Take the high ground.

After killing all these Hiss, the next set of platforms will appear. Use Levitate to fly from platform to reach Dylan.

When you reach him, try to cleanse Dylan.

Congratulations, you've completed Control!
