Cuphead delayed until mid next year
To ship with the developer's "vision intact".
1930s animation-inspired platformer Cuphead has been delayed until mid-2017 on Xbox One and PC.
It was originally slated to come out later this year, but developer Studio MDHR realised it would need a little more time to complete its charming love letter to the animation of yesteryear.
"Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact," the developer said on its blog. "We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017."
For more on Cuphead, our Ian Higton took a look at 11 minutes of Cuphead gameplay earlier this summer. He found its boss battles tough as nails, which may be its second biggest draw after the unique old timey aesthetic.
