Cyberpunk 2077 players are using a dodge glitch to run so fast the cars won't load
Quicktime event.
Ever since Cyberpunk 2077 came out in December, players have been experimenting with the game's various sci-fi powers to get protagonist V to run faster than anyone should be able to. Now, players are taking running fast in Cyberpunk to the next level.
Redditor Strikielol uploaded a clip of the glitch in action to the Cyberpunk sub:
Insane Speed New Glitch without slow time Super EASY to do from r/cyberpunkgame
Here's how it works: first, equip the Maneuvering System cyberware mod in a Nervous System slot (get the mod from Octavio's Clinic at Arroyo, Santo Domingo). This allows you to perform dodges in mid-air - or, as Strikie reveals, dash.
Now, out in the wild, jump then dash forward just before you hit the ground. the timing can be tricky, but as you build up momentum, you can move incredibly fast - much faster, clearly, than the developers intended for V to move. Strikie moves so fast along a Night City highway that you can see cars pop in and then out as V speeds by.
YouTuber Max Dakka combined Maneuvering System with the Reinforced Tendons legs cyberware mod to gain additional height on the leaps. Max Dakka suggested a challenge: move around the Night City beltway in as fast a time as possible.
It's early days in the Cyberpunk speedrunning effort (an existing favourite is trying to get to sex as fast as possible), and previous runs used a combination of cyberware that lets V boost through the air while slowing down time. This new method, however, does not involve slowing down time and so is much faster.
If you're wondering, the current Cyberpunk 2077 any% world record completion time is just over three hours, set by Cold Cypher. Spoilers, obviously!
