Crown of the Ivory King - First Knight of Eleum Loyce, Flame Butterfly, Fire Clutch Ring, shortcut
The final fight against the Burnt Ivory King is much easier with these knights in tow. Here's how to track down the first of your handy allies.
This section of the guide complements the overall Eleum Loyce guide.
In front of you is a pack of creatures - a Retainer Mage, a Frozen Soldier and two Ice Golems. Run straight past the Mage and you should only catch the attention of the Soldier. Kill it nice and quickly.
Next, take out the pair of Golems from range - you won't pull the mage by doing so. Finally, kill this last enemy and walk through the gate up ahead. Here you'll find the Knight of Eleum Loyce who'll help you in the Old Chaos zone. Walk towards him and he'll whizz off to the Cathedral to await your arrival.
Walk up the stairs located behind the knight and go through the door. This provides a handy shortcut back to the Cathedral whenever you need it. Now go back downstairs and take the corridor on your left. When you reach the end of it you'll be able to grab a trio of Flame Butterfly items, but make sure you also examine the right-hand central section of the hallway. This creates a passage to the bridge beneath.
Jump down and look for the Frozen Soldier on your right. Kill it with ranged attacks, then look around and enter the hallway beneath the spot you just jumped down from. At the end of that hallways is a pair of Golems. Kill them, then go back over the bridge until you're on the other side of it.
Take a left and kill the Frozen Warrior that's guarding the stairs. Walk up them, then take the Fire Clutch Ring from the chest you come to. Jump down into the room on your left to find yourself back at the enemy-packed room where you started.
