Dark Souls 2 - Giant Lord, Giant Lord Soul, Giant's Kinship, Pilgrim of Dark

Use our guide to take down the Giant Lord with ease, then make your way through to the game's final epic showdown in the Throne of Want.

Make your way to the Cardinal Tower bonfire, located by the Last Giant in the Forest of Fallen Giants. Go down the ladder, then go across the bridge that's on your left. Walk through the door on your right, then head left. Put your King's Ring on and then walk through the door. Light the next bonfire you come to, then interact with the large statue to enter the Memory of Jeigh.

Now walk through the misty door and wait for the first explosion to occur. Keep walking along the path, but don't worry about fighting any of the enemies here - you simply need to avoid the explosions. When you reach the end of this section, you'll face a boss battle with the Giant Lord.

How to kill the Giant Lord

This fight with the Giant Lord is very similar to the one you've already had with the Last Giant. Make sure you stick to the enemy's feet, dodge out of the way whenever it's stomp attack looms, and deal your own damage to your opponent's feet. This will keep you out of the way of the vast majority of the Giant Lord's damage.

How to find the Throne of Want

Once you've killed the Giant, take the Old Radiant Lifegem from over in the corner, then make your way upstairs. Grab the Fire Seed from over on your right, then jump down, walk through the doorway ahead of you, and then go downstairs. If you interact with the stone giant down here you'll be able to get hold of a Soul of a Giant which will let you teleport back to Forest of Fallen Giants.

"If you interact with the stone giant down here you'll be able to get hold of a Soul of a Giant which will let you teleport back to Forest of Fallen Giants."

You'll have to fight the Royal Sorcerer Navlaan once again, before heading to the bonfire at the Cardinal Tower. Once you're there, go down the ladder and head into the next room along. Now head right, go through the doorway and make your way upstairs towards the location of the Pursuer. If you haven't killed this boss yet, you can refer to our guide to the fight, otherwise walk past where he once stood and interact with the statue. This allows you to enter the Memory of Orro.

Go through the next room you come to and then head up both sets of stairs. Kill the enemies lurking around at the top, and then use one of your Pharros' Lockstones on the face in the wall. Enter the hidden room and then open up the poisonous chest to get a trio of Souls of a Hero. Don't worry about activating the other face in the wall, simply head back through the door, up the next two sets of stairs, then kill the three enemies on your left. Just be careful of the one with the crossbow.

Jump down onto the bridge on your right to get a Soul of a Brave Warrior, then drop down onto the roof and bear left. Interact with the giant nearby to get a Soul of a Giant and teleport back to Forest of the Fallen Giants.

How to find the Memory of Vammar

Go back to the Cardinal Tower bonfire, climb down the ladder and then slide through the damaged wall. Carry on to the left, head down the next ladder, then go through the door on your left before immediately bearing right. If you interact with the statue ahead of you, you'll enter the Memory of Vammar.

Walk down the corridor and get near to the door. Just be ready to dodge back very quickly when the giant tries to attack you. Keep in mind that you only have a certain amount of time inside these memories, so kill enemies quickly if you're able to, or run past them if you can't. However you choose to deal with this section, get through the door and into the next room.

Make your way to the nearby ladder and climb it to get on the roof. Now run across and jump down behind the group of enemies. Head downstairs, then head right to find the next ladder. Climb it, then walk through the door on your right. Go across the rooftop to get a Bonfire Ascetic and a Soul of a Great Hero.

Now turn round and go back through the door and down the ladder. Walk through the door behind you and then head left until you come to some stairs. Before going upstairs, take the Rouge Water from nearby, then head up and take the Old Radiant Lifegem when you reach the top. Now take the Torch and the Soul of a Great Hero from the corner. Interact with the giant here to get the Soul of a Giant and be taken back to the Forest of Fallen Giants.

How to join the Pilgrims of Dark

Head back to the Cardinal Tower bonfire once more, then go to the bonfire in the Hidden Chamber of Black Gulch. Walk down the corridor, take a left into the next wide open area, then kill all of the enemies that spawn. If you've already cleared the area, you won't need to worry about facing any more enemies.

When you come to the area where the first worm-like opponents show up, jump down onto the ledge on your left, then go around the corner and jump down again. Drop down one last time and then enter the cave. Kill the two massive enemies at the end of this lair to get a Soul of a Giant and a Forgotten Key.

"If you want to join the Pilgrims of Dark covenant, have a chat with Darkdiver Grandahl."

Walk into the smaller room over on the far side and take the Petrified Dragon Bone and a Ring of Giants +1 from the coffer you come to. Now make your way across this area until you're in a new room. Be careful of the hole in the middle of the floor, and smash up all the crockery to get hold of four Silver Talismans. Use the cage in the last room to get to the next floor up, then drop down and make your way back to the spot where you first dropped down.

Use your Forgotten Key to open up the door. If you want to join the Pilgrims of Dark Covenant, have a chat with Darkdiver Grandahl here. You'll receive an Abyss Seal for doing so, and gain access to the lift here and his shop. You're now set for the final showdown in Drangleic Castle.
