DDR Hottest Party for Wii
Flail arms as well as legs.
Those of you who have zip-codes instead of post-codes will be happy bunnies this morning, especially if you like to wiggle the old back-bone, as Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party looks set to head to Wii across the US sometime this year.
However the title isn't confirmed for Europe and Konami were unable to comment on the likelihood of it appearing in PAL territories.
Shown at the recent Konami Gamer's Day event, DDR Hottest Party takes interactivity one step further. Instead of simply jumping around a mat like a lunatic, trying to step on the right panels in time to the music, you'll now also have to throw your arms around in an attempt to match commands on the screen.
At the moment it's just limited to a shake of the hands using either the nunchuck or the remote, but the complete game hopes to have more complex activities to occupy both hands, including flair moves, whatever they are.
It's still very early days, but multiplayer support for four players to play either cooperatively using joint dance moves, or competitively by throwing "arrows" at your opponents, is something the developers hope will be included.
The full version of the game promises a completely new soundtrack built from the ground up with hits from the last four decades. However, the demo at the event featured just three songs: "Lips of an Angel" by Jet Rocker, Naoki's "Will," and "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C&C Music Factory.
