I love this time of year. It's still sunny, but not too hot, fresh without being chilly. Crispy piles of leaves are accumulating on the pavements and for a precious few weeks the bastard seagulls finally shut up and concentrate on brutalising the elderly and infirm.

What's best about October, of course, is that it's home to the superlative Eurogamer Expo.

Being the loyal and committed reader that you are, no doubt your ticket is already ensconced in a golden shrine upon your trophy-strewn mantelpiece, glittering like the doorbell on the door to heaven. Presuming that you printed it on tinfoil, obviously.

If you're a bad reader, or for some other reason you just don't like fun that much, you might still need some persuading. Well, help is at hand. If our fabulous list of incredible AAA titles isn't enough for you, then we have the moon on a stick in the form of our daily industry developer sessions. These talks, of which there'll be four a day in Leeds and six a day in London, will feature the cream of the international games industry, discussing the tips and secrets behind the world's most successful games and studios.

The first of these to be unveiled is a special case, being given at 1:30 pm every day at both venues - because it's just that special.

Paul Wedgwood, Splash Damage CEO and Brink Game Director will be talking about his ambitious new shooter Brink, as it's presented publicly for the very first time in the UK. We're excited, are you?

Here it is from the horse's mouth, though - Splash Damage's chance to pitch you Brink personally:

"Brink, being published by Bethesda Softworks, blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience and allows you to develop your character across all modes of play. You decide the role you want to assume as you fight to save yourself and mankind's last refuge for humanity. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an all-new control system. "

"Brink takes place on the Ark, a man-made floating city that is on the brink of all-out civil war. Originally built as an experimental, self-sufficient and 100% "green" habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth's oceans has forced the Ark to become home to not only the original founders and their descendants but also to thousands of refugees. With tensions between the two groups growing, Security and Resistance forces are locked in a heated battle for control of the Ark."

"Which side will you choose?"

Seating in the theatres at these locations is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Buy now, don't cry later.
