Diablo 3 100% Legendary drop-chance buff made permanent
Holy cow (level)!
Blizzard is making the 100 per cent Legendary drop-chance buff permanent.
It was applied to all characters to celebrate the game's second birthday, but apparently we all liked it so much - no, really? - that Blizzard decided to keep it.
It won't look like a buff: it'll be a boost to the base-line drop rate. But rest assured it's there.
The double-Rift-fragment Anniversary buff will, however, expire as originally planned. "Perhaps it's a buff we'll bring back later, though!" wrote Diablo 3 community manager Lylirra in the game's official forum (via GameInformer).
The happy news was broken by Blizzard game designer Travis Day. "Hello folks," he chirped. "I come bearing exciting news.
"Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Anniversary buff we have decided to keep the increased Legendary drop rate once the Anniversary celebration ends. Once the buff is disabled tomorrow morning, you will find that the new base line drop rates for Legendary items will be the same as those you have all enjoyed for the last week.
"Happy hunting and link the loot!"
The Anniversary buff only applied to the PC and Mac versions of the game, which means this base-line buff probably does too.
