Microsoft has decided to end Xbox Originals and so pave the way for the new games-on-demand service announced during the platform holder's E3 conference.

There will be one last Xbox 1 game added to Originals, according to IGN - although there's no word on what it will be. Knights of the Old Republic please!

Xbox Originals offers 29 games from Microsoft's first console. Among them are gems such as Psychonauts, Max Payne, Halo, Jade Empire and Fahrenheit. Each Xbox Original costs 1200 Microsoft Points (GBP 10.20 / EUR 13.96).

The new Xbox 360 games-on-demand service lets users buy and download full games like Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed and BioShock over Xbox Live. Prices will be "comparable" to retail, and re-downloading in the future - to save space or swap machine - will be no problem.

We're promised around 30 titles at service launch this autumn.
