EA's 2010 FIFA World Cup in April
Full online tournament! Altitude effects!
As expected, EA has this morning lifted the lid on the 2010 FIFA World Cup videogame.
It's coming to PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360 on 30th April. The real-life sporting event starts in June.
Exciting bits in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions include being able to compete in a full, online World Cup, where one player will eventually be crowned the besterest. Also, altitude will now affect your game by shortening players' breath and altering the flight of the ball.
Those versions will also feature all 199 teams (and their national stadiums) that took part in qualification, plus all 10 stadiums being used in South Africa - the host of this summer's tournament.
There are home and away strategies to consider, plus situational in-game tactics that can be swapped mid-game - panic if you're England and you're approaching penalties, for instance. Our PS3/360 EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup gallery shows more.
The Wii version of 2010 FIFA World Cup differs. Here you'll find a more colourful art style and the ability to steal the other team's players after beating one of the 32 nations you'll encounter on your virtual trip around the world. You can then take your acquired team to a friend's house by storing it on your Wiimote.
