With its great story, fast-paced battle system and addicting structure, this is easily the best RPG, and overall game, that I've played all year."

Complex without being too overbearing, graphics which really bring the battles to life, especially the new naval engagements, and so epic in scale that a single campaign can last literally for days. Empire: Total War is quite simply one of the best strategy games ever made."

As such the sense of power as you level up is astonishing and ripping along the city on electric cables is completely satisfying. Simply an absolute joy to play."
