FIFA 22 Chemistry Styles list: Which attributes are affected by every Chem Style in FIFA 22

Explaining the all-important FUT 22 Chemistry Style modifiers and the best ways to use them.

FIFA Chemistry Styles are a massively useful tool for boosting individual player ratings in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, granting you the ability to customise the stat boosts your players recieve from high Chemistry as you wish.

As we explain our main FIFA 22 Chemistry guide, we can't emphasise their importance enough, with certain attributes boosted by up to a whopping fifteen points each, totalling a massive 90 attribute points, rather than the standard 5 across the board.

Below you'll find our explanation of the best FIFA Chemistry Styles for each position alongside a full Chemistry Styles list, so you know every attribute affected by every Chem Style available.

FIFA Chemistry Styles explained - what are Chem Styles in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team and how do they work?

Effectively, Chemistry Styles work by increasing a specific group of player attributes - like Sprint Speed, for instance, or Crossing - which are categorised and shown under more general groups on player cards in FUT, such as PAC (pace) or PASS (passing).

To get the added effect of the Chemistry Style attached to your player, that player will need to have an Individual Chemistry - shown on the bar under the player picture in one of the secondary FUT Squad views - of at least 5 out of 10. At 4 out of 10, the attributes will stay the same, and below that all attributes regardless of Chem Style will start to decrease. You can read more on how to increase Individual Chemistry in our main Chemistry guide.

When not at full Individual Chemistry, our Martial card just gets a +4 bonus in the attributes affected - in this case from just the Basic, default Chem Style.

The only issue is, it's not made explicitly clear which players and positions these Chem Styles actually suit, mainly due to those bundled stats like 'Shooting' not indicating which actual attributes within it - like Finishing, Shot Power, Penalties, or Long Shots - is increased by the Chemistry Style add-on. That means it's not clear, for example, whether you'd want the Sniper or Marksman Style on your Striker.

Below, we'll dive into what each card does, to help solve that problem.

Stuck for who to make up your team? We have pages on FIFA 22 Wonderkids, the best FIFA 22 goalkeepers, best FIFA 22 defenders, best FIFA 22 strikers, best FIFA 22 wingers, and the best FIFA 22 midfielders. For FUT fans, we have guides to how Chemistry works and a full Chemistry Styles list, too.

FIFA 22 Chemistry Styles attributes list - which stats are affected?

We've broken down the tables below into Attacking, Midfield, Defensive and Goalkeeper Chemistry Styles, according to the stats they affect. Remember the total is always 90 attribute points if the player has a maximum Overall Chemistry - a hidden stat based on Team and Individual Chemistry (again, more on exactly how FIFA Chemistry is calculated in our other guide) - and note that the numbers in the tables below represent the maximum potential amount those attributes will improve by, again depending on that player's hidden Overall Chemistry.

And again, we explain exactly how much stats improve by when you have less than max chemistry in our FIFA 22 Chemistry guide.

Also worth bearing in mind is that the Basic Chemistry Style, which is automatically applied to all players which don't come pre-loaded with a Chem Style of their own, doesn't increase every single stat when you hit the right amount of Chemistry. Rather, it increases a set group of attributes by a smaller amount than the others, with a maximum 5-point increase in each of the following:

  • Basic Chemistry Style - Acceleration, Positioning, Finishing, Shot Power, Volleys, Penalties, Vision, Long Passing, Short Passing, Curve, Agility, Ball Control, Dribbling, Marking, Standing Tackle, Sliding Tackle, Jumping, and Strength by a small amount (max. 5 points each).

Likewise, you can also receive a penalty to your players attributes for having a low Individual Player Chemistry rating. In fact, at zero Chemistry, your player will receive a 25-point reduction to every attribute. This scales according to just how low your player's Individual Chemistry rating is.

With that cleared up, let's dive into which Chemistry Style is best for which position in your FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

There are several Chemistry Styles suitable for each position, but some will be more applicable to your playstyle than others.
