Electronic Arts finished 2006 in the same position as it started - with a number one title in the UK All Formats charts.

FIFA 07 was the final number one game of the year, with rival football title Pro Evolution Soccer 6 from Konami close behind at number two.

EA also held the number three and four spots with Need for Speed Carbon and The Sims 2: Pets, respectively, while Activision's Call of Duty 3 slipped one place to number five.

THQ's WWE Smackdown Vs RAW 2007 stood it's ground at number six, while Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War climbed up the charts to number seven.

Rockstar's Canis Canem Edit was just one title to show the benefit of New Year sales, leaping back into the top ten at eight, pushing Dr Kawashima's Brain Training down one place to nine, with THQ's movie tie-in Cars rounding out the top ten, at ten.
