Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo leak spills spoilers for full game
And possibly its sequel.
An eye-opening Final Fantasy 7 Remake leak has left spoilers for Square Enix's new version of the game all over the internet.
(We won't include those spoilers here.)
The details come from a Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo set to release on PlayStation 4 at some point in the near future. Users with hacked consoles appear to have found the demo on Sony's server and downloaded it early.
Extended footage of the demo is now readily available on YouTube.
What's more surprising, however, is that files from the final game - beyond the demo's limits - have been left in the demo's code.
"How do you spoil a 20-year-old game?" I hear you ask. Well, these details include new changes to the game, and our first look at redesigned characters and settings Square Enix has so far kept well under wraps - including details of the game's end boss.
There are hints to at least one location fans are surprised to see included at all, leading some to suggest the demo may even include files left over from what has now become Final Fantasy 7 Remake's sequel, which is already being planned.
A rip of the remake's full soundtrack is also doing the rounds.
It's a disaster for Square Enix, which is yet to even announce launch plans for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo. At the time of writing, footage remains on YouTube for those who do want to watch.
