The first Nintendo Direct broadcast in more than six months will take place this Thursday at 10pm UK time.

It is time.

Nintendo hasn't held one of its announcement broadcasts since before the summer, and the untimely passing of company president Satoru Iwata.

This broadcast will be helmed by Nintendo's European president Satoru Shibata, who will discuss "a variety of updates for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS owners".

The upcoming Nintendo Badge Collection app will likely be among the topics discussed - it launches the following day.

We're also expecting a Star Fox Zero date and news on the first Smash Bros. DLC character to be taken from the game's fan poll.

But fans will be looking for a big Direct announcement after so long away - and there's a couple of games that might do just that.

Various leaks have pointed to a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD edition for Wii U. Could Nintendo still pull it out the bag in time for Christmas?

Or is it time for Nintendo to officially reveal Pikmin 4 - something which the company's top designer Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed to Eurogamer was in development back in July?

Join us at 10pm on Thursday to find out.
