BioWare and LucasArts have revealed video footage Star Wars: The Old Republic to the public for the first time.

You can see it as part of a video documentary on the official site, or on Eurogamer TV. If you're familiar with what's been said about the MMO to date, you might want to skip to about a third of the way in to see the game in action - the talking heads don't offer anything new.

The footage is "pre-production" and a little slow of framerate, but shows off some pretty fast-paced lightsaber combat. You'll catch some unseen concept art and screens if you watch the rest of the video, too.

EA boss John Riccitiello (the publishing giant owns BioWare) said last week that The Old Republic would be a "mid-session", micro-transaction based game rather than a full subscription title, although this was later claimed to be a "misunderstanding".

More info on the Old Republic gamepage. The game is in development for PC, but has no release date.
