First Wolfenstein details emerge
"The ultimate supernatural thriller."
Activision has finally revealed new information on the long-awaited Wolfenstein game.
Previously known as Castle Wolfenstein, the latest nuggets of info bill the Raven-developed game as "the ultimate supernatural thriller".
Wolfenstein will once again be set in a fictional reinterpretation of World War II, where you control OSA agent BJ Blazkowicz. He is sent hurtling into the unknown where he will biff Nazis, "otherworldly forces" and dark science on the nose.
Your job is to investigate some mysterious powers from a dark parallel dimension, in case you were wondering, which will involve joining with resistance forces and getting to grips with both a conventional and supernatural arsenal.
On top of that there will be lots of "interlinked missions" driven by a story rather than a, er, improvisation. And Wolfenstein multiplayer is back in its class-based team objective form.
Wolfenstein is due out on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 "when it's done", which we hope is early next year.
Check back for the official trailer, and expect much more when we jet off to QuakeCon later this month.
