Fortnite - Coin locations: Where to place coins around the map to obtain the Free Guy emote
Never be game over.
Place coins around the map is one of the Free Guy themed quests in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.
In collaboration with the movie starring Ryan Reynolds, a new series of quests have arrived, tasking you to get hit by a moving vehicle, take melee damage, place coins around the map, talk with any NPC and reboot or revive teammates, or interact with campfires.
We'll be focusing on the less straightforward of the bunch. You need to place a total of three coins in key spots of the Fortnite map, which sounds daunting but it's easy enough if you know where to look beforehand.
Completing this challenge won't reward you with XP to help you unlock more Battle Stars for the Season 7 battle pass. Instead, you'll be rewarded with 200 gold bars, as well as being one step closer to unlock the Good Guy emote.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection and Eren Jaeger skin. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.
How to start the Free Guy quests in Fortnite
If you were searching for the Free Guy quests in the quest tab and couldn't find them, don't fret, the same happened to us. As it turns out, you need to interact with an ATM for them to kickstart.
You can find one next to a phone booth in Holly Hatchery:
Interacting with the ATM will activate one quest at a time out of five. If you complete all of them, you'll be rewarded with the Good Guy emote. As per each task, they will reward you with gold bars.
The full list is as follows:
- Get hit by a moving vehicle
- Take melee damage
- Place coins around the map
- Talk with any NPC
- Reboot or revive teammates, or interact with campfires
Remember, you can only track one of them at a time. After you have completed them, you'll have to start a new match and interact with the ATM again to obtain the following one, and so on.
Most quests are rather straightforward, but we'll be focusing on place coins around the map, as there are several possible locations.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is here! It brings a free Lego Insider skin and redemption codes with it, along with a new Victory Umbrella. We've also got pages on new features like Medallions, Weapon Mods, and how to complete a Train Heist. Meanwhile, learn what the best weapons are in the current season, how to get XP fast, and what the best PC settings are to help earn a Victory Crown.
Where to place coins around the map in Fortnite
As we mentioned, you only need to place three coins around the map, and luckily there are many spots to do so - all the way from Misty Meadows to Believer Beach.
Two areas in particular - Believer Beach and Pleasant Park - have two spots to place coins each. We have gathered eight possible spots for you to choose from.
At a glance, you can find the locations below:
Let's start with Holly Hatchery. You can find a spot to place a coin in the northwestern corner of the big area in the middle.
Over at Believer Beach, there is a spot you can't really miss, as it's right in the entrance that leads to the pier.
A second spot can be found on the southeastern corner of the area, just on the opposite direction of the payphone.
Over at Craggy Cliffs, there is another one in a corner west of the medium sized house inn the centre.
If you're near Pleasant Park, there is a spot to place a coin on the opposite side of the gas station found northeast.
If you head all the way southeast, you'll find a second spot in the area.
Let's go to Misty Meadows now. There is a spot next to a fountain at the centre of the eastern part of town.
If you're near Lazy Lake, you can find a spot in a corner of the northwestern part of town.
As with any other challenge of this kind, all you have to do is get close enough to any of the aforementioned spots and press the interact prompt. A shiny coin with the letter 'F' will appear.
Repeat this a total of three times, and you'll be all set. We recommend starting in either Pleasant Park or Believer Beach so you can get two coins out of the way, and then take a pick for the third spot.
That's all for this quest! Now you can go ahead and complete the tasks to talk with any NPC and reboot or revive teammates, or interact with campfires to obtain the Good Guy emote, which is part of the Free Guy set.
In addition, in case you have been procrastinating them, remember to complete Rift Tour and Superman quests before they disappear from the game.
