Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection and Eren Jaeger skin. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.
How the Salty Springs treasure map works
For the Week 3 Challenges, you are tasked with the following:
- Follow the treasure map found in Salty Springs (1 total, 10 Battle Stars)
Another to complete this week is searching for Rubber Ducky locations.
Salty Springs hides a map that paves the way to a hidden treasure. Note only those with the Battle Pass will be able to see it, and on the map features a diagram of where the treasure can be found.
However, you can skip this first step and go straight to the treasure location - as explained later on this page - if you prefer to do so.
As with other challenges, you must do these as you play matches - you cannot enter the map without other players - so you'll have to avoid combat encounters as you attempt to find each location.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is here! It brings a free Lego Insider skin and redemption codes with it, along with a new Victory Umbrella. We've also got pages on new features like Medallions, Weapon Mods, and how to complete a Train Heist. Meanwhile, learn what the best weapons are in the current season, how to get XP fast, and what the best PC settings are to help earn a Victory Crown.
Salty Springs treasure map location
Salty Springs is located in the middle of the map, just south of the huge crater that is Dusty Divot. It's here you'll find the Treasure Map, but you actually don't need to go there at all to get the Treasure.
Whether you find the map or not, the destination you need to go to is the race track, which is the squiggly line found on the far east coast of the map, just north of Moisty Mire:
Specifically, you are aiming for the south side. The race track looks like a spiral, and you are aiming for what you could describe is the 'centre' of the south part of the spiral, pointing north-east.
There's some tires there, if that helps narrow down the position. When you land, the Treasure should appear. Use the button prompt to collect it.
Note you need to complete the match in order for the challenge to be finished. Quitting the match as soon as you collect it won't work, so make sure you keep going.
Already done? There are plenty of other Challenges to take on this week - including Rubber Ducky locations - so keep playing!
