Free Alan Wake DLC with new copies

Microsoft has announced that a token for free downloadable content will be included with new copies of Alan Wake when it hits store shelves worldwide next month.

Little is currently known about the downloadable content, which will be available "later this year" according to a Microsoft press release.

The move seems part of a trend among publishers designed to blunt the impact of used game sales on their bottom line.

No word yet on how much the DLC will run for those who buy the game used.

For those who prefer paying for Alan Wake-related things, Microsoft has opened an online store packed with everything from "I [heart] AW" t-shirts to rather expensive flashlights.
