The Go Fest Friendship Challenge in Pokémon Go is the third and final Timed Research quest released in the run up to Go Fest 2020.
The Go Fest Friendship Challenge consists of three quest steps, and these are designed to test your skill at working alongside others.
If you successfully complete all the challenges, you'll be assisting the other members of your chosen team achieve a special goal.

How the 'Go Fest Friendship Challenge' works in Pokémon Go
The Go Fest Friendship Challenge works like the other previous Skill Go Fest Challenges and Battle Go Fest Challenges, in that Friendship Go Fest Challenge is a Timed Research quest, which means that you must complete it before the quest expires.
As the name suggests, it revolves around sending gifts to Friends and interacting with your Buddy Pokémon - from earning hearts to earning Candy and taking a Snapshot.
If you successfully complete the Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship before its deadline, you'll be able to Go Fest Elite Friendship Challenge.

- Earn a heart with your buddy - 1x Razz Berry
- Send a Gift to a Friend - 100x Stardust
- Play with your buddy - 1x Pinap Berry
Rewards: 100 XP, 100x Stardust, 10x Poké Balls
'Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship' Step 2 of 3
- Send 5 Gifts to Friends - 10x Pinap Berry
- Heart 5 hearts with your buddy - 10x Razz Berry
- Earn a Candy walking with your buddy - 1x Rare Candy
Rewards: 300 XP, 300x Stardust, Alolan Raichu encounter
'Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship' Step 3 of 3
- Take a Snapshot of your buddy - 10x Pinap Berry
- Send 10 Gifts to Friends - 5x Razz Berry
- Earn 10 hearts with your buddy - 1x Rare Candy
Rewards: 1x Rare Candy, 1x Lucky Egg, Petilil encounter

Elite 'Go Fest Friendship Challenge' quest steps in Pokémon Go explained
If you manage to complete the above steps for the Go Fest Friendship Challenge, then you'll unlock the Elite Go Fest Friendship Challenge.
This extra set of tasks shares the Wednesday, 22nd July at 10pm local time deadline at the original Go Fest Friendship Challenge tasks. Thankfully, they don't contribute to the global completion tally for Go Fest - so consider them an optional extra.

- Use 30 Berries to help catch Pokemon - 5x Nanab Berry
- Send 30 Gifts to Friends - 5x Razz Berry
- Earn 30 Hearts with your buddy - 5x Pinap Berry

'Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship' unlock goals in Pokémon Go explained
When you complete the Go Fest Friendship Challenge, you'll contribute to a global competition tally.
The exact tally you're assigned to depends on which Pokémon Go team you're currently on - Mystic, Instinct or Valor.
When a minimum of one million trainers for a specific team completes their Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship goal, a new Pokémon will be unlocked for Go Fest 2020.
Below you can find which Pokémon have been assigned to each and will be released if the one million goal is reached:
- One million Team Mystic trainers - Dratini
- One million Team Instinct trainers - Togetic
- One million Team Valor trainers - Litwick
Each Go Fest Weekly Challenge has its own set of unlockable goals, which means that completing all three of the challenge sets will help add even more rare Pokémon to Go Fest 2020.
The Max Out Season is here and includes a new global event, Wild Area. Currently, the Simply Groundbreaking event is running. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don't forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.
'Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship' dates and times in Pokémon Go explained
The Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship is the third of the three Timed Research challenge sets that will be released in the weeks prior to Go Fest 2020.
'Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship' runs from Friday, 17th July to Wednesday, 22nd July, beginning at 8am and ending at 10pm local time.
If you complete the Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Friendship before 10pm on Wednesday, 22nd July, you'll unlock access to the optional Go Fest Elite Friendship Challenge - which will also disappear when the rest of the challenges do
