Gauntlet: Slayer Edition coming to PS4 in August
Glove will tear us apart, again.
Magicka and Helldivers developer Arrowhead's Gauntlet remake is coming to PS4 in August.
Dubbed Gauntlet: Slayer Edition, this console port will go for $19.99 (about £13).
"This however, will not just be a straight port, but a stronger, cooler and more slayer-y version of the one we released on the PC," said game director Emil Englund on Arrowhead's blog. "We've been shaping up a lot of the assets in the game, both Characters and Environments, as well as improving on the game mechanics."
So what's changed? For one, all four players will be able to customise their loadouts simultaneously, regardless of game mode. There will also be new weapons and battle modes.
Fundamentally Gauntlet will remain a four-player co-op experience in which parties venture through dungeons both authored and procedurally generated.
Released last year on PC, Gauntlet received mixed critical reception with our Chris Donlan stating in his review that "Arrowhead has already made a truly great Gauntlet tribute anyway, and it was Magicka."
