Gearbox confirms War Hero project
It wants to be starting something.
Lovable Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford has confirmed to Shacknews that the War Hero trademarks that surfaced yesterday are a genuine project for the company.
The trademarks reveal "a bit about our interests in the development of another original intellectual property", said Pitchford, and War Hero is "something down the road" for the independent developer.
Quite far down the road, it seems. "We haven't even talked to any potential partners... so we're certainly not ready to talk about it publicly at the moment," he said.
For now, Gearbox is "focused squarely on kicking ass" with Borderlands, due this October. Check out our Borderlands gamepage to find out why it's one of our most anticipated games of the year.
Gearbox also has Aliens: Colonial Marines in the works for SEGA, and three more unannounced projects listed, although none of these is related to War Hero, Pitchford says.
